The Texas River Marathon, a preliminary race for the Texas Water Safari, ended in Riverside Park near the Pumphouse Restaurant on Saturday. Racers started in Cuero and paddled more than 35 miles to help secure a better starting position at the water safari.

A four-person boat, dubbed "Frankenbarge", manned by John Valdivia, Roger Zimmerman, Santiago Marroquin, and Ken Startz, all of Victoria, crosses the finish line of the Texas River Marathon outside of the Pumphouse Restaurant in Riverside Park on Saturday.
