70k, for that?
That's just a start, I wonder when the COV in there great wisdom, will want to repaint the water towers with the "great" new logo.
Plus change all the signage on police cars ect., after all the city has to support the new logo.
June 25, 2009 at 6:17 p.m.To put this in a nice way.....Have they lost their d--m minds? Have they been standing out in our heat wave to long? Get a grip, with this economy & they want to spend $70,000. on a logo?
June 25, 2009 at 4:49 p.m.Okay, I missed something. What are you talking about? Branding? $70K logo?
June 25, 2009 at 3:27 p.m.yeojj- Nobody wants to help change it???!!!! How is wasting over SEVENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS on a "logo" really going to improve Victoria in any positive way?
June 25, 2009 at 3:04 p.m.70k is a lot of cash, I hope there is more to this than that logo. I also do not know why Victoria should be that proud of of that old confederate monument they used on the cover.
June 25, 2009 at 10:24 a.m.My wife and I lived in Houston for 25 years before moving to Victoria in 1993. We like living here. It would take a LOT of money and probably a gun to get us to move back to Houston. There is A Wal-Mart, A Sam's Club, two HEBs, A movie theater -- but it has multiple screens. You can't swing a dead cat without hittling a church. Most of the people are very nice. Now, I grant you that Victoria is NOT a vacation destination, but even if it was, when I go on vacation, I leave to go somewhere else anyway. I like living here -- I bellyache about taxes and the p-----g contest between the DA and the police department, but it could be worse. For example, Houston is a sanctuary city. We're not -- yet. Now, if only the Advocate would let go of the "fatal funnel" and get on with real news, life would be grand. A snake was stolen and that's the top story on page one?!?!?!?!
June 25, 2009 at 9:53 a.m.Wow that is really sad that people don't care! Everyone can complain that Victoria has nothing to offer, but nobody wants to help change it!
