I love fishSTICKS. They're delicious!
June 4, 2009 at 2:27 a.m.legion357 - this WAS in the 70's, but the difference may be that I went to school in Houston. We also had a snack bar outside and that's where I stayed, except on Pizza Thursdays. Truth be told, most students were inside enjoying the pizza too, and the snack bar was pretty deserted on those Thursdays. We could not leave campus; I had never even heard of an open campus till we moved down here and still have a hard time grasping the concept. What a difference!
June 3, 2009 at 7:47 p.m.I don't know, none of that kind of food was served in the 60's and 70's , least that I remember.
But I'll give it shot, at William Offer Elementary, what I remember the most was the plain jane enchiladas, rice and beans, not much seasoning but it was ok.
At Patti Welder Jr. High, by luck, they opened the snack bar for the first time my 6th grade year, I had lots of there frito pies.
At VHS, well we had a open campus all 4 years I was there.
Since I lived 3 blocks or so away, I either went home or later on went to a burger place, except for McD's ( nasty burgers back in the 70's).
I never ate on campus at VHS.
