Frankly, I had a full plate raising my own family. We are now planning for retirement and having another kid in the house is not an option.

It has been over 15 years since I took in America students so they could have a decent home life, a good environment in which to flourish, and the opportunity to finish their education. I received no financial support for the young teenagers and they were not relatives. I just happened to be their at at time they needed help and their family was not able to ensure they could complete their education or really even cared about the young children.
I am so proud of them, they have their own careers and families now.
I believe there are others like them; very talented American with so much potential at risk of loosing their desire to reach their full potential.
Don't tell me about foster care, foreign students, or other programs. Americans need to care for its own first.
My family because their family, we love these individuals as if they were blood.
