November 20, 2009 at 11:17 a.m.Show no fear because nobody put fear into them......nature vs nuture....nuture wins.
November 17, 2009 at 8:06 p.m.I read a newly released medical paper concerning why some people grow up to steal, murder, etc, they recorded children around the age of three and checked back with them twenty years later, what they found out that the children at the age of three that showed no signs of fearing anything ended up being those who stole, murdered, etc. The researchers did not say this was a mental disorder, but thought it could be, but would not go that far. I think back about a kid I knew when he was three and he did not fear anything, stole things from my son, and now at 14 years of age and being allowed to steal and never being corrected he finally was caught and now must go in front of the judge, and his dumb parents still try and make excuses. It was something I read, and thought I would share this.
November 17, 2009 at 7:02 p.m.Parents need to be held responsible already!!! enough is enough!! If the parent was held to their childs actions, meaning punishment for both AND NOT FINES, they can get money anywhere, just look at all the toys the crimals have. Things would change. But with the holidays coming up, I only see it to get worse, if punishments doesn't get serious!!!
November 17, 2009 at 5:40 p.m.Hang em high!.....in the park!.sell tickets and replace the destroyed property! Great Idea Huh?
November 17, 2009 at 2:26 p.m.when i was a kid if i screwed up i got punished. I was taught respect for my elders and respect for others rights. If i would have done what was done in cuero i would not have dared go home because I knew my parents would have punished me for this crime and then made me pay for the damages and help rebuild it as well. along with turning me in to the park officials for them to work me until i had made restitution many times over. But because my parents did their job raising me right I would never have vandalized anything because I had repect for others property.
November 16, 2009 at 4:42 p.m.pythagoras, If parents did their job and taught their kids respect of others and right from wrong this type of vandalism would not happen. (thats if kids did this) Its time parents did their job and raise their kids instead of letting them run wild. Spare the rod spoil the child!!! Now don't get me wrong I am not for abusing them I mean the punishment for wrong behavior fit the crime. I am sick and tired of parents neglecting their responsibilties and liberals crying abuse every time a parent spanks a child. For generations children were spanked and taught respect and we did not have these problems like today. Maybe it's time to get back to the old ways and raise our children to be respectful of others and not shirk our duty as parents. after all it doesn't take a village to raise a child it takes a parent.
November 16, 2009 at 4:32 p.m.Clean the bathrooms in the park....they are nasty nasty nasty.
November 15, 2009 at 10:05 p.m.I voted other. If the parents are the kind who do not keep up with their kids, and kids did do this, then yes I feel the parents should also be punished. If parents took the time to check on their kids and keep up with them, then these things would not happen, both parents and kids should pay. The punishment should be; put them all in a plane and drop them off in a desert, just kidding. They should be fined greatly, do about 1,000 hour community service each, I mean real nasty work, work in cow, horse, chicken and pig pens, like clean poop, stand in front of the park wearing signs saying they are sorry they did this, give me more time and I will think of some more punishment.
November 15, 2009 at 9:54 p.m.I too agree with parents being held responsible & not just monetarily. Cities should also seriously look at curfews for all kids under 18.
November 15, 2009 at 9:13 p.m.I like newearths' idea, parents are responsible (legally) and should share the responsible for their actions if under 18.
November 15, 2009 at 8:58 p.m.If over 18 you do the crime, you do the time.
Actually, the parents shouldn't be punished. Regardless if they were under 18 or not they still made a choice and should be punished for the outcome of that choice. They should be held accountable for their actions and no one else.
November 15, 2009 at 5:31 p.m.If these crimes were committed by children, meaning anyone under 18, then the parents must be punished also, we must make the parents parent and not just by paying what they can, but paying with their time, let the child and parents serve communtiy service together, maybe then they both learn.
November 15, 2009 at 11 a.m.This is not the first time this has occured and it will not be the last until someone serves time for the crime...
