6 years ago my husband and I asked my 93 year old grandmother if she would help us finance this surgery for me by loaning us $2000 (a large portion of the amount). When my dad came down to take me to the surgery he had a check from my grandmother for the full amount, with the instructions that it was "a gift". I will be FOREVER grateful to her for the blessed gift of vision without glasses. At the time of my surgery I had worn glasses for 35 years. My grandmother passed away in 2006 but everytime I look closely at something and no longer need glasses I am reminded (and thankful) for her love and generosity. What a wonderful thing to not have to wear glasses anymore. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
