I believe that most citizens feel like they are safe and another attack is remote.
We have seen cut backs in many defense contracts, no indication the current administration will seek funds to retrofit our current nuclear arsenal, talks about lowering or changing the alert codes, and reduction of the defense budget, .
With respect to the Victoria area,changes have been made to meet Homeland Security requirements, but are subtle to the general public's eye. If you go to the Victoria Regional Airport, upgrades in security have been made over the years after 9/11. The bigger cities have made more drastic changes, and still, they are somewhat low key to the general public, but, THEY ARE THERE.
