Opps , I mean Rhetoric, not Rhethic.
February 7, 2012 at 11:01 p.m.Itisi.
Then why do you sound like the “people I hate”? I mean your attitude, the chest beating, and rhethic pretty much similar to Michael Berry, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, and Joe Pags.
Mr. Williams
February 7, 2012 at 10:54 p.m.Write-in, you're wrong I do not listen to talk radio, I do not have a radio in my home, I do not listen to it in my vehicle, I listen the oldies on sat/radio.
January 26, 2012 at 11:11 a.m.I thought President Obama's speach was spot-on and the GOP response was less that inspiring. Narrow minded people with very limited vision will shy away from the bright light of reality.

I didn't take your comments personally because we've had this same discussion multiple times. I know where you stand.
As for your analogy, it's of those apples and oranges because I'm at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to the president of the United States. If those entertainers attacked my family, they would lose the listeners who tuned into hear him attack the president and his family... If someone verbally attacked my family, I would consider the source and take care of it accordingly. I wouldn't make it public just to prove how tough I am. I'm comfortable in my own skin.
A sign of weakness is subjective. Circumstances, context, source of attack and matter of importance plays a factor. You've heard the expression "lay with dogs get fleas" the president of the United States can't be seen playing down to the lowest level of his competition. Talk radio hosts are a minus 100 on matter of importance. Any attack should be left to the surrogates and several do go on O'Reilly and Hannity but I doubt it does any good with that crowd.
We've gotten off the subject matter, so I'll leave it that.

If Glenn Beck attacked and smear your 9 year old daughter what would you do? If Michael Berry attacked your wife, what would you do? Are you suggesting that you shouldn’t defend your family? I would fiercely defend my daughter and wife by any means necessary.
The President lost some of my respect and those within “the community” for not taking some of these idiots on.
There is a difference between having disagreements and smearing me as Not a Citizen, UnAmerican, etc. At some point someone have to stop the foolishness.
January 26, 2012 at 6:46 a.m.I don't pay much attention to Smash mouth politics - democrat or republican - when a man or woman that is asking me to support them for an elected office and they begin with the trash - attack - and character assassination I move on to the next candidate. Sorry to say I have not voted in some races because I could not honestly support either the democrat of republican or even the independent candidate.
Trash talk is just that - trash - when you return like for like - no one wins.
I think if President Obama stays professional in his campaign - doesn't allow the ultra conservatives to bate him into the trash - he will win reelection.

My reply wasn’t meant to disrespect you in anyway. If I did offend you then please accept my humble apology. Plus I do not think you are naive. Born2bme is right about Rick Perry and why he is and others were elected. Senator Obama did mention talk radio host like Lou Dobbs and Sean Hannity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUOwtN...
Obama and his team may believe in professionalism, but people will take it for weakness. I for one believe in Smash mouth politics. If someone comes to the table with foolishness, ill will, and code words then harsh tones and language will be implied.
Mr. Williams
January 25, 2012 at 11:05 p.m.Obama did beat them in 2008 with ever mentioning talk radio....I don't dislike Republians or conservatives because you can't walk a block without running into one...I think 85% of the county are republicans and I call many of them my friends...YouTubes don't really mean as much as the finally vote tally...Trash talk is trash talk ,nothing else.
January 25, 2012 at 10:44 p.m.Born2Bme.
I am glad you said something I didn’t want to say in the first place. If I would have said that they, including a time warp hippie would say I am playing the race card and practicing the so-called RESERVE RACISM.

I rest my case. If you want to defeat conservatives and Republicans you have to think like them.
January 25, 2012 at 10:34 p.m.Mr. Williams
We have people of all stripes writing letters and making comments;that doesn't mean it resonates....Again,Texas is a conservative state and because of the district lines,it will be that way for a while..hence an easy path for Gov. Perry.
I am talking about a national campaign.
Well anyway the WH will not go after talk radio..We will just have to disagree.
January 25, 2012 at 10:19 p.m.Rick Perry kept getting elected because:
1. He's a Republican
2. He's a white, good old "boy"
3. He looks the part of what Republican Texas things a governor from Texas should look like. You know, that Texas swagger.
People didn't know much about him, but they do now.

I'm a lot older than you and I'm not as naive as you think I am...I seriously doubt that you know more about conservatives because you listen to talk radio...It's on 24/7 with the same mindless message.
The DEMs WON in 2006 and 2008 despite talk radio.
Serious republicans and conservatives don't listen to talk radio, that's for those people that have a WWF mindset and who relish in the trash talk. Those people are not going to vote for Obama anyway.
I believe in the professionalism of the Obama campaign.
January 25, 2012 at 10:08 p.m.Writein, I think the main reason Rick Perry kept getting elelcted had less to do with talk shows than it did with a general lack of knowledge about him. He never debated, remember? And remember how much we all learned in the few presidential debates he participated in?
That, and folks in Texas are generally lazy voters who think pulling one lever is the answer.
January 25, 2012 at 9:56 p.m.Mike.
It is too late for that. You see they will be playing catch up from the past 4.5 years. You say that they the talk show rhetoric are in the minority, well you haven’t been paying attention. I am closer to the Right Wing than you are. I know how conservatives act and think. Talk Show rhetoric helped Rick Perry retained his governorship in 2006 and 2010. Ask Debra Medina, Joe Pags, or that slime ball Glenn Beck. You even have Talk Show rhetoric on here daily and even on the opinion page.

You are on to something ,because Clinton's old attack dog,Paul Begala said the Obama team will go on offense but for now, they will keep their powder dry....They are not going after talk radio because their target will be Congress and the eventual GOP nominee...
Newt and Mitt are destroying each other,so the president can still stay above the fray and continue to look presidential to the independents
Today's NBC/Wall Street Journal poll showed an 8% increase in people who think we are headed in the right direction and A CBS poll showed that 91% approved of the presidents speech last night.
I not concerned because those people that use the talk show rhetoric are in the minority..
January 25, 2012 at 9:35 p.m.Tafoer.
Let’s talk about class warfare. Class warfare had been around long before we heard of a Barack Obama. Class warfare is when a bank only loan me money when I don’t need it. Class Warfare is when local businesses hire Ted and Bill over me because they are a member of a while known family.
Now having said that I have yet to hear and read a SOULTION to the economy from you. When I mean Solution I mean well thought out and original idea meaning without the HATE TALK RADIO RHETORIC!!!!!
That is for you, Itisi, and Jasonborune.
Mr. Williams

If you are concern about the Rush Limbaugh lingo, then you should ask Democrats and those who are not conservative to stop being defensive and start playing OFFENSE against Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Joe Pags, Micheal Barry, and the like. Rush Limbaugh should be in jail over his usage of drugs. Sean Hannity should be investigated over his ties to Neo-Nazi leader Hal Turner who by the way threaten the life of the Presidential candidates in 2008.
Mr. Williams
January 25, 2012 at 8:20 p.m.Great lie #1 - Obama: "This Is Not Class Warfare," It's "Common Sense"
January 25, 2012 at 4:32 p.m.Those of you who are not all in with Dear Leader, please feel free to add your favorite zinger from last night's state of confusion speech.
Those first 2 years were dealing with the collapse of the economy and healthcare. Do I think that jobs should have been taken up first? Yes, but it was possibly the only window of opportunity that the Democrats had to try and deal with healthcare.
January 25, 2012 at 3:57 p.m.Last night he was making it perfectly clear to those who do not understand politics, and the fact that the President cannot do anything he wants, that he is willing to sign things into law if they would just present him with a fair bill to sign.
There are a lot of people that thought that just because he got elected, he, personally, could keep all of the promises he made, all by himself.
For others reading this,I would like to clear this up hopefully once and for all.
"Democrats had the majority in the House and Senate"
True, but to get to a filibuster proof they had to let Joe Libermann (ID./Dem) from Connecticut to caucus with the democrats and Arlen Specter switched parties giving the democrats a crucial vote to pass Health Care. One lonely senator from the opposition party can block any legislation and presidential nominee, with a simple statement as ,president Obama stated last night.... I'm all for the filibuster but let's make go through the actual process like in "Mr. Smith goes to Washington."... There's nothing in the constitution that says we have to have a 60 vote rule, that's just a senate rule that can be changed...Now,if the democrats had 60 senators who were monolithic and 218 representatives cut of the same cloth, like in the days of LBJ ,then the president wouldn't have an excuse. Speaker Boehner is going through that scenario where he's had several bills that he can't get out the House of Representatives, even though they have an overwhelming majority to pass anything he wants.
It's no secrete that republicans weren't going to like anything the president said because that just the way it is. The GOP presidential candidates were criticizing the speech a day before he actually gave it. And yes, that's a vice versa,so why pretend.
It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that in a presidential election year , any president would take advantage of the national stage to gain votes. It would be political malpractice not to do so.
January 25, 2012 at 3:33 p.m.If President Obama had done any of the things he talked about doing in the future, during the time period when the Democrats had the majority in the House and Senate, I would think better of him. As it is though, I feel everything he had to say last night was merely campaign rhetoric, geared only to get him more votes.
January 25, 2012 at 3:08 p.m.The Rush Limbaugh lingo is prevalent in our county; it's easier than typing something of substance
January 25, 2012 at 2:53 p.m.Anytime I notice that someone can't even properly pronounce the Presidents name correctly I fail to give any credence to a commenter or their deep political reasoning.. I it clear that if President Obama suddenly joined the GOP he would be attacked by some of these folks "jus cuz" as they say in the trailer park.
January 25, 2012 at 2:45 p.m.I have great difficulty finding a lie that resonates with me. This was just more of the lies the country has had to suffer for the last three years.
January 25, 2012 at 1:20 p.m.The president can't get anything done unless he has "back me up".. where there is none..
January 25, 2012 at 12:46 p.m.Boehner's face looks like a familiar one. Alcoholic that can't wait to have his stiff one.
January 25, 2012 at 12:45 p.m.I was watching Boehner's facial expressions all night. There were times he looks a whole lot uncomfortable.
January 25, 2012 at 11:57 a.m.I should probably add that I think any President in this modern age needs more than the powers they have to solve many of the problems we have made/inherited over the years. I don't see any of them finding a magic wand any time soon. Anyone saying Obama is worse than the previous is probably not looking at the bigger picture.
Did anyone else notice Justice Ginsburg's apparent inability to hold her head up during the speach? She might want to think about a retirement package. (and no, I don't just say that because she lives on the liberal side of things)
January 25, 2012 at 11:40 a.m.The president failed to mention anything about the State Of The Union, only political bs. I guess the reason he did not talk about the state of the union was, because of the failure of his policies.
January 25, 2012 at 11:11 a.m.It's not so much what he said, but how he said it. He is speaking to the hearts of average Americans. None of the Republican candidates can hold a candle to him when it comes to speaking and standing by the ones who are struggling the most.
January 25, 2012 at 11:07 a.m.I chose other and thought...
Rhetoric, rhetoric, rhetoric, rhetoric, rhetoric, rhetoric, rhetoric, rhetoric, rhetoric, and put it on my desk and I will sign it.
Was the better option
From a public speaking standpoint, he makes "W" look silly but that really isn't saying much is it.
