Orr shoots 1-under 71 for A&M at regional

AUSTIN – Senior Miranda Orr shot a one-under par 71 on Friday to help Texas A&M stay in the hunt for a berth to the NCAA Championships. Orr, a Memorial graduate, was tied for 56th individual at the NCAA Women’s Golf Central Regional with a two-day 154 going into today’s final round at the UT Golf Club. more >>

Huggins hurts head in fall

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) –West Virginia University officials say head basketball coach Bob Huggins has been taken to a hospital in Charlotte, N.C., for precautionary reasons after tripping on an airport tarmac and hitting his head on the pavement. Athletic director Ed Pastilong says Huggins had a bump on his head, and never lost consciousness. more >>

Aggies win

HUNTSVILLE – Fifth-ranked Texas A&M hit four home runs and tallied a season-high 22 hits to power past Sam Houston State, 13-9, Tuesday night. Leading 4-3 entering the seventh, the Aggies scored nine runs in the final three frames and withstood a six-run Bearkat ninth to earn the victory. more >>

Jaguars drop DH to Huskies

HOUSTON – Houston Baptist finished off the University of Houston-Victoria’s baseball season with a doubleheader sweep Saturday to complete a three-game series sweep. The Huskies (21-22) took the opener 8-2 and then behind a combined three-hitter captured the nightcap 10-0 in six innings. The final game was called due to the 10-run rule. more >>

Dallas Baptist downs A&M

COLLEGE STATION (AP) –Nick Santos and Brandon Bantz each had three RBIs and Evan Bigley went 4-for-5 with one RBI and scored four runs as Dallas Baptist defeated Texas A&M 12-6 Thursday night to snap the Aggies’eight-game winning streak. Dallas Baptist (30-13) scored at least one run in each of the first seven innings. Bantz homered in the second and had a two-run single in the sixth. Santos singled in Bigley in the first and got two other RBIs on sacrifice flies. more >>
