Becky Cooper | Local Editor
I am the local editor for the Victoria Advocate. I have been with the paper for 24 years starting as a general assignments reporter then worked specific beats including police and courts and education. I worked as a bureau reporter for almost 10 years in the Cuero bureau before promoting up to regional editor in June 2000.
In July 2005 I was promoted to city editor, which is now known as local editor.
I live in Yoakum with my husband Gary Cooper. We have two dogs, border collie mixes, named Timex and Rolex - yep, they are watch dogs.
I'm a graduate of Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos with a BS in journalism and a minor in sociology.
