Veteran students at VC can request GI Bill Emergency Checks online
Story by Darin Kazmir • Submitted by DarinkThe Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Regional Offices in Waco and Houston, Texas will distribute emergency checks for up to $3,000 to veterans who have applied for educational benefits and who have not yet received their GI Bill payment from VA.
Veteran students at The Victoria College can submit an online request for an emergency check by applying online at www.va.gov beginning Friday, October 2. By applying online, students can avoid traveling to Waco or Houston and waiting in line to submit a request at the VA Regional Office.
After the online application has been completed, an Emergency GI Bill Check will be mailed from Austin, Texas, by Friday, October 9 and the checks should be received by Thursday, October 15. After this special payment, VA students can expect to receive education payments on the normal schedule.
