Introducing VC’s new dance team
Story by Katy Long • Submitted by DarinkThe Victoria College’s newly formed dance team is set to perform at all VC Pirates women’s volleyball and men’s basketball home games. Coached by physical education professor Kelly McKay, the team includes 16 girls, four of whom comprise the team’s officers. Kristin Gonzales is the team’s major, while Mallory Morales, Allyson McDonald and Courtney Reese serve as the team’s two captains and lieutenant, respectively.
Dancers include Chelsea Escobar, Hannah Gohlke, Claire Pagel, Gracie Rosales, Farlee Sutton, Muky Nweke, Chi Chi Nweke, Dessielene Anujulu, Meagan Garcia, Sarah Stubbs, Kendall Hoefling and Audrey Leonard, the team’s newest addition.
The team practices in the Aerobics Room of the VC Sport Center on Mondays from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. and on Fridays from 2 to 4 p.m. Anyone interested in joining the dance team should contact Kelly McKay at 361-573-3291 ext. 3323 or stop by the VC Sports Center during practice hours.
