Story by Katy LongSubmitted by Darink

Friday, October 30 marks the fifteenth consecutive year for the annual Halloween Carnival at The Victoria College to benefit student organizations. The carnival begins at 5:30 p.m. and goes until 8:30 p.m. Each year the carnival hosts nearly 200 attendees and last year raised approximately $1,500 for student organizations.

The students from SCOPE will man the bounce house, darts, face painting and a fishing game. The TRiO club will offer popcorn, pickles, tattoos and a toy wheel activity. United Campus Ministry will hold pumpkin bowling. The Student Nurses Association will have a bean bag toss; the evening group will offer a cake walk and the day group will offer cotton candy, cokes, water and a duck pond game. The Student Government Association will offer nachos and provide the popular haunted house. The VC Staff Council will provide a photo booth where attendees may get a Halloween photo in costume. VC sports clubs will have a pie-throwing booth and the VC Film Club will host a horror movie trivia game. The Latin American Student Association will have a graveyard toss and ghost hunt games and offer Frito pies.

In addition to activity booths, there will be several costume contests for various age groups including infant to 4 years, 5 to 9 years and 10 and up. Additionally, prizes will be awarded to the overall Most Scary costume. New this year is an award for the best pet costume. Costume judging will be conducted by VC president Dr. Tom Butler along with faculty and staff. Contest winners, or their owners, will receive trophies.
