I am disappointed in both candidate's. Neither are conducting themselves as a judge. Both boast they will be fair on the bench but are not fair to each other.
To the Victoria Advocate, I thought your comment "your lack of teamwork was apparently why the race you fought hard was a close one" was totally unnecessary.
Thanks Stephen. I live just a mile from Memorial Stadium and we are currently experiencing much, much thunder.
As of this time have any high school football games been called off? Bad weather in Coprus also.
Is there any news regarding the high school football games tonight? They are also having bad weather in Corpus. Just wondering if West & East may be called due to weather.
No, you are not the only one who has nocticed a spike in profanity. I would also agree there has been a substanial change this year. There is a website something like "kids movie ratings" or something similiar and it shares the number of times the f-word is used and it is an eye-opener. "Cops Out" movie used the f-word like 119 times and movies you would think would not have the f-word will have used the f-word like 20-30 times not to mention all the other words. But, the profanity has worsened in the last year, no doubt. While we debate the issue of English becoming America's language, I fear profanity is becoming America's language.
Realizing VISD still has a meaure of time to select a coach for our new schools I surely hope they will yield to new prospects for a fresh beginning. There are many very capable individuals for the positions. Personally I think each new high school needs a new coach and it would serve everyone's best interest, even Mr. Finley.
Red Rage, consider moving on. The Alan Weddell era is over (generally lost to Carroll) and the Mark Reeve era is over. Yesterday is gone. You can't get it back. Look foward with a positive attitude. Victoria has the ability to exceed anything that occurred in the 80's and 90's.
May I remind some of you, from the 1950's to this current date I have personally witnessed many upsets in football at all levels. I myself have played in games of such. These upsets occur at the high school level, the college level and the pro level. Have you ever seen the Texas Longhorns upset? Have you ever seen the Dallas Cowboys upset? The reason we refer to it at an "upset" is because it is not likely. However, it is possible. Tonight Memorial plays Judson and it is likely Judson will win, but perhaps, just perhaps Memorial will upset Judson. Folks, that's why we will play the game tonight, to find out for sure. As for me, I hoping for a upset. In reality, it is possible and it just seems to make sense to pull for Memorial since this is my home.
