Oh, the Scholastic Book Club. Came second only to the once-a-year book fair at my school. But I don't remember much non-book merchandise in those tiny catalogs - maybe bookmarks or keychains once in a while. My how things change...
Oh wow! Now there's a story you guys can have forever. Grumpy niece or not, you guys planned that shower right on time! :)
Thanks for posting the link, markkrueger. That one slipped through but I appreciate you getting that up there!
That letter to the editor is so sad! I mean, I can understand that you don't want the mother-in-law around 24/7, but I think the wives need to give way at least a little bit. Poor thing...
Haha - I like to watch the ball drop, too - especially if Casey Kasem is there because I think he has one of the coolest voices ever. We eat cabbage on New Year's Day, supposedly to bring us money in the new year, but it hasn't really worked out for me yet.
That's pretty interesting. I know I always go out of my way to make sure I say FebRUary, but I've probably been mispronouncing 'often' my entire life. I'm not sure. But thanks for sharing!
Bite your tongue - A Christmas Story is a cult classic ... not that that's ever stopped them.
My family plays cards ALLLL the time and I've got plenty of decks - not to mention board games! We could make our own hurricane pie nights. :)
