I have a comment: WOW! Wasn't it just last week that you posted the sketches of this painting online? You have a real gift there, Robert - I wish I could draw like that!

David, make them stop! Or at least tell them to veer away from the Gulf.
That's OK. Your blog mix-up probably came because your thoughts were impaired by the foamy water that's now running through your system ... eew. But kudos to you - I don't think I would have been brave enough to ride around in the downpour.
That's so exciting, Sonny! One of my goals in life is to get a book (well, preferably BOOKS) published - probably more along the lines of fiction. But good luck with everything and let us know how it goes!
Aw, the Subway guy looks so sad! He just wanted his veggies! Give him a break! :)
Oh OldRustyBucket, I wish I'd read your comment before I left on my trip! I didn't come back TOO badly burnt, but my back, chest and knees bore the brunt of the pain. And just try walking without bending your knees...it isn't easy! (And you look stupid doing it.) But I'll remember your advice in the future.
I know what you mean - I love the way both things smell, too! That, and sunscreen. They all bring back happy memories of childhood and summer. Sometimes it's fun going back. I use my best friend's 4-year-old sometimes for that very reason. She gives me an excuse to color on her chalk board, play with her Light Bright and mold with Play-Doh. :)
That's a really good idea, Eric! We haven't really planned the whole thing out yet - all we know is that we're leaving early tomorrow. Neither of us has an innertube and I'm pretty sure we're just taking one car so I know we'll end up forking out some money, but it'll still be fun. :)
You're very right, Leslie - I don't ride my bike much now, but when I was little it was my only method of transportation through the neighborhood. And while my other friends got to go around helmet-free, my mom made me wear mine. I'm glad she did, though. A few years ago I had a bicycle wipe-out on the A&M; campus - I collided with a guy who pulled out from between a couple of cars and we both went flying. Neither of us were wearing helmets and luckily the only injuries we got were scraped hands, but it could have been a lot worse.
Sounds like a great plan! Eat some cotton candy for me, since we all know that's one of the best parts of a carnival! :) Have a nice weekend.
