Bio
Anthony Pedone was born in Dallas, TX, but spent the formational years of his life on a ranch in Clayton, New Mexico. At 16 he moved back to Texas and played in multiple musical projects while studying music at Southwest Texas State University.
In 2005, Pedone received his certificate in Writing Social Commentary from Penn State University and began experimenting with digital media and filmmaking. In 2008 he co-fouded Robotic Indifference and directed his first feature film “The Why”. The Why screened in 6 countries and received Best Avant Garde and Best Experimental Feature awards at The Great Lake Film Festival, Heart of England Film Festival and Manhattan Film Festival in 2010. The Why was voted Film of the Month in May 2011 and will screen at Anthology Film Archives as part of the Winter 2012 Film Series organized by New Filmmakers New York.
Since Robotic Indifferences conception, Anthony has had the unique opportunity to collaborate with an innovative and diverse group of artists. Anthony co-produced Steve Balderson’s “The Casserole Club”, and joined Balderson again. in London to shoot “Culture Shock”during the fall of 2011. The Casserole Club was the recipient of 5 Independent Vision Awards including Best Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Production Design and Best Director. While on the set of the The Casserole Club, Pedone shot “Camp Casserole”, a behind the scenes look at the process of indie filmmaking, which had its world premiere at Raindance in 2011. This year Robotic Indifference has produced Jane Wiedlin’s directorial debut, “The Pyrex Glitch”, and was the executive producer for “Roundball”, which was shot in Victoria in the Summer of 2011.
Anthony has served on the board of directors at Theatre Victoria since 2008. volunteered for the Victoria Preservation Society, Downtown 71 Productions’ Dia De Los Muertos Festival in DeLeon Plaza, and in 2012 will begin a filmmaking workshop with students at Trinity private school. Anthony is a freelance writer for the German art magazine, READ.
Pedone was appointed director of the Victoria, TX chapter of Texas Artists’ Cultural Alliance, and founded the Victoria Independent Film Festival, as part of a continued effort to give independent cinema a presence in Victoria.
