Actually, traffic wasn't that bad if you realize that there are a lot of people there and getting out won't take 2 minutes. Just come to grips with the fact you will have to be patient and things will be fine. It's no worse than trying to get out of an Astros or Texans game.
It was a lot better than trying to leave the community center afterwards. Best part about the mall location, if it's wet (not this year) few mosquitoes and no mud.

I was forced to take French while growing up in Canada. Ferme ta bouche is literally "firm your mouth" Or as one might say in Texas... Shut yer pie hole!
Bighorn, Twinkle and others who think they know who I am.
I have posted here and elsewhere under my name, unlike you who do not have the guts to do so. In fact, I used to blog on here when VICAD used to verify your identity before being allowed to blog.
I am not curtislowe nor farcus, nor others you have accused me of being.
I stopped posting because I got tired of having to discuss the issues when all that was answered back from the other side was "this was about their kid not getting major" and "we love DJ so she could do no wrong."
That may be paraphrasing a little.
I had major issues with fiscal resources, lack of fiscal responsibility and who had actual control of the booster club. The parents or the director.
As for the disgruntled parent argument from the other side, what was conveniently left out of all this were these rather large facts:
It all happens around the same time of the year. The months of May and June. This is when officer tryouts are held and booster club elections are held and TKB planning happens.
This is when the treasurer started questioning other expenses and was directed by VISD officials what items can and cannot be paid for using booster club funds.
At a booster club meeting it was revealed that a drill team golf tournament and raffle raised about $40,000. This was when it was revealed the fundraising goal of the booster club was to raise $51,000 net. This was when I questioned the practice of sinking $40,000 into a fund raiser that cost at least that much or more simply to hold it when we were very close to our goal. Another raffle and we were there.
Not very sound fiscal practices in anyone's book, especially in light of the current economy.
It was shortly after this that the booster club was disbanded and then the drill team director was reassigned for "hazing and harrassment."
It is very likely none of us would have posted on here again if not for it being brought to our attentions the accusations and comments made here the past day or two by twinkle and bighorn.
We stopped our grievances with VISD once they removed the director from her post.

Twice in the first half the Warriors defense held inside the 5 forcing the Bobcats to settle for 2 FGs. They also stopped Kendrick Wilson on a 2 point conversion run from the one after a phantom pass interference call.
Those three plays were the difference.
Kyle Motal showed great composure to lead the team down the field for the winning score after the interception led to the Bobcats lead. Many players would have given up.
Also on the winning touchdown pass and catch, Motal threw a perfect strike just over the hands of the DB and Jared Dolezal made a beautiful diving catch into the endzone for the TD.
South San is a better team than their 0-5 record indicates and they are young. Starting QB is a sophomore, number of receivers and running backs they used were so. and jr.
It was a character win for the Warriors.

"AshWade, When did i state that i was talking about your daughter"
Let me point it out for you.
"but those people are also the ones who started this mess when their children didnt get what they wanted"
As there are only a few of us who have officially complained to VISD it's pretty clear who you were referring to.
Victoria Reader,
You stated,
"I appreciate not wanting to throw anyone under the bus...but those people are also the ones who started this mess when their children didnt get what they wanted."
So you will throw a child under the bus? As a parent of one of those children who was 1st senior captain you are way off base with your accusations. This was never about her being major she never wanted major to begin with but as a returning junior officer she was required by the former director, to tryout for major.
Whoever says this is all about Major of drill team is a bald faced liar.
The fact that this lie would be spread to the drill team should also be looked into by VISD as I have a pretty good idea where it began.
So I would appreciate it if you left my child out of this. You got questions ask me. You got issues address me. I have posted plenty of truths throughout these blogs that can be based on fact alone, not opinion and emotion.
This all started when adults, not students, asked other adults, not students, questions about fundraising practices, fiscal responsibility and accountability and bringing up issues that violated district bylaws and other rules.
If you want to be angry, direct your anger towards those who cannot follow rules and do things properly. Not at those who simply pointed out these errors.
But I guess Responsibility can only be preached about not practiced.
