Most detractors of the pro-life movement I have come across are not as much concerned about a woman's rights. They are more angry at organized Christianity and see this as a vehicle to indirectly express that bitterness toward evangelical Christians and Catholics.
Back in 1989, my wife came across a 21-year-old woman who had scheduled to have an abortion in Corpus Christi. My wife counseled her and provided her information about the fetus. She had no idea the 2-month-old baby inside her had a heartbeat. She decided to have the baby. The woman tragically died five years ago. Her daughter is attending college today and is the only legacy her mother left behind. Each time we see this young lady, we are convinced even more that pregnant women need to be informed of all the facts before they opt for an abortion.
Pro-abortion groups do not want these facts to be heard. Their livelihoods depend on women making hasty and uninformed decisions. They prey on the emotions and desperation of young women to make a buck. Their contention that they are trying to protect women's reproductive rights is a lie. If that was their main concern, they should provide their services for free.
BTW: My wife and I would gladly adopt a child (no matter the race) to save it from being aborted.
COV is a joke. Racism, discrimination, incompetence reigns from top to bottom. Try getting the city manager to reply to a concern/complaint and you'll wait forever. The city is a dump. I have never been this embarrassed to be from Victoria.
The left never honestly pursues the truth nor will the left ever accept it. It's part of the chemical imbalance they all suffer from. You know it's the truth when they label it a "talking point" or claim that your information was copied and pasted off some right-wing website. It's the only defense they have. They are bankrupt of intellectual honesty.
I appreciate your blogs, whether I agree with them or not. As a journalist, you have to possess very thick skin and be prepared for opposition with every word you write. But that is a good thing. The ability to provoke thought and, yes, even anger at times, especially with volatile issues, is an integral part of the journalistic process.
If you aren't being unfairly attacked and unduly discredited by a handful of readers, then you're probably not doing your job. Some of the best journalists have been the ones who were the most vilified. But their critics kept reading their work. The worst journalists are the ones everyone love.
