Bio

I am the editor of the Victoria Advocate, a family-owned newspaper in south Texas serving the Crossroads region. I've had this privilege since April 2007. I enjoy community newspapering because you're closer to your readers and can make a bigger difference in your corner of the world. The Web offers even more opportunities for engaging readers, and I hope to hear from all of you. A constructive community conversation makes the world a better place for us all.
If you want to know more about my professional background, check out my profile at LinkedIn.

I have a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Kansas. During basketball season, you'll find me cheering on the Jayhawks. (During football season, I'm moreĀ  of a fickle fan.) I had the honor of continuing my education at Harvard University as a Nieman Fellow in 2005-2006.
