I've been in the newspaper business since 2005. Before that, I had several careers, including energy, software, and now newspapers.  I love learning new things - it keeps you sharp. 
I have a wonderful wife that keeps me in line - I'd be lost without her.  She and I are raising two great kids that are growing like weeds.  I love traveling with her and the family now that they are easier to travel with.

My favorite hobby is surfing, which is ironic since I live in Texas, miles from the beach. Most any other outdoor activity is a suitable alternative, including fishing, hunting, moutain biking, golf, and snowboarding. My other secret hobby is music. I'm a closet musician that grew up playing piano, then trumpet, then guitar, and now bass. My latest project is playing in a local band called Coastal Bend. http://www.coastalbendsongs.com/
