    "Actually a good story. Most people do not see the other side of the Military. I spent 25 years in the Army and witness a lot of strife involving families. Non support could very well be a carreer ender. A lot depends on the chain of command. Also the child support, all this is taken out of the service member check automatically. He / she has no control as to when it will be taken. Also need to mention that, if the Gunny is on active duty, once he retires, the spouse is automatically entitled to half the monthly earnings and medical for life. There is a lot of stuff that people, just don't understand about Military life. It is a whole different world. Most could not live in it. "

Hello. I am a 20-something journalist in Victoria, TX, and I cover diversity/courts and breaking news on occasion.

I was born and raised in Houston, but I'm just now getting back to the Great State of Texas.

I have a bachelor's degree in newspaper journalism from Florida A&M University (Go Rattlers !), and a master's degree from The University of Alabama (Roll Tide !).
