Various wildlife in garage. Most mentioned above with the exception of the baby deer under the vehicle hiding from the dogs. Front and back porches...rattlesnakes lots of them over the years. The most surprising was one night dogs going crazy went out several times didnt see anything and finally realized the dogs were looking up. When I looked up there were 2 racoons clinging to the top of the wooden columns. What to Do? I called dogs around to back porch and fed them allowing the racoons time to escape. It worked to my surprise.
There was the time I heard strange noises in front yard. It was a large herd of wild hogs. No dogs in sight. They were sleeping on back porch!?! Guess the wind was blowing just right or the dogs just didnt want to get involved...
I heard a noise like someone coughing one morning and looked out the window. It was a turkey hen running back and forth looking at herself in the windows.
Science experiments...Too Numerous Too Count...They dont end as your children get older...When my daughter was in high school a small orange juice container she left in floor board spilled she didnt know until she smelled the stench. She cleaned the floor mat. The smell continued to get worse as the days passed. We investigated. We raised the floor mat. Well, you can just imagine.
Since I am on a roll here. I guess this falls under both wildlife and science experiment. Definitely the most disgusting. My vehicle reeked of a dead body. I do not leave food or drink in my vehicle. Went thru it. Nothing. The smell was so bad I could not drive it. Held my nose all the way to the dealership. After several days and several hundred dollars they dismantled the entire A/C system to remove the mouse parts in the vents, fan, etc.
I do have to include the funniest. When my son was 15 he bought a 1970 4 door Chevelle to fix up. Not long after we got it home my daughter and decided to take it for a Sunday spin. I felt something tickling my knee under my pants. Put my hand over it. Could tell it was a very tiny mouse. Told my daughter to pull over. Finally had to tell her why to get her to stop. She threw car in park got out and started running down the road. Had to scream to her to come back and unbutton my jeans. I couldnt do it with one hand. My other hand was busy keeping the mouse trapped in place! She finally came back. She unfastened jeans and help me roll them down releasing the mouse. Thank God we were on a country road away from civilization. No one was traumatized by my striptease!
Glad to see this article. Our power was out approx 30 minutes out in the County. The office where my sister works in Victoria was without power also later.
I have not watched to show only the previews. I find that guy too creepy.
When talking about the creepiness of the show with others the subject came up as to whether the 3 or 4 of them are legally married by the state or whether it is just a religious thing or if they just all live together and consider themselves "married". I considered watching to see if this issue was addressed but decided it might not be revealed until the last episode of the season. The creepiness factor was too much. I haven't watched.
Welcome Home!!! Thank You For Your Service!!!
I would swipe Pop Rocks and Nerds from my kids. They were so good.
When I was a kid my favorites were Pixie Stix, Sweet Tarts, and those little wax bottle shaped things with sweet colored water in them.
These days my husband and I squabble over whether the chocolate needs to be in the freezer. He likes to eat frozen chocolate. Go Figure!
As a graduate of VHS many moons ago I too am sick of the Victoriadore name being drug on and on and on. Uggh. It was originally affiliated with Victoria High School which has not existed for nearly 10 years!!! For Gods sake! Bury the Victoriadore name 6 feet under! Please!
If either of the new Drill Team outfits have those little dingle balls on them or on the hats I will puke!!!
Both drill teams should be equally funded and equipped before the first day of school. If they are not someone is using very poor judgement!
Weather Geek here too!
I love the smell of rain also! The kind you can smell before it starts falling where you are!
After riding out Claudette out here on the prarie I don't want to be in the middle of even a weak one anymore. The wind was so much stronger than we were expecting and came from all 4 directions at different times. It was scary. They did not get our power on for 7 days. No power = No water. Miserable.
I was in elementary school and remember the flooding after Beulah. It was something else out here and hung around for several days.
I was in Tivoli having Mexican food at Canales' when the storm blew thru this evening. Streets flooded. The lightening was wicked!!!
I like your articles! When I click on your link I know what I am in for. A much needed giggle.
I had one brief, horrible experience with a girl bully in High School. Years later she waited on me in a business here in town. She was very nice and seemed embarrassed.
One of the other reporters was requesting suggestions for an article in his blog. I think he would be more appropriate to write a serious bullying article. No offense April.
I think I accidentally stumbled onto your hairdresser! When she offered me a glass of wine it all made sense. She is great.
I try to stick to a diet that does not include processed food. Just like any other diet once you get the swing of it, it's not so bad. One slip up though and you are back to square one. When I stick to it I feel really good.
Beer and Red Wine are out for me. I can have White Wine, Vodka or clear Tequila. I prefer clear Tequila and water on the rocks with some fresh lime.
