Having received my undergraduate degree at one of the Tx A&M System schools - TAMU Galveston - and seeing, firsthand, how the downward expansion and system investments have paid off for TAMU-CC, I think the transfer of UHV to the Tx A&M System holds tremendous opportunities for the Victoria area. I appreciate that Representative Morrison, after listening carefully to our community's concerns about the UH System's reaction to our "expectations" of growing our local university into a true regional institution, filed the bill that will help us realize our ambitions. My appreciation also extends to all of the other community leaders who helped make this possible.
