John Boehner, the Republican Speaker of the House went on national TV ... Sunday morning political news shows ... a few weeks ago and stated that President Obama WAS born in Hawaii. His birth certificate is the real thing. He IS an American citizen.

Two former Hawaii governors, one Democrat and one Republican have both stated they have seen the original birth certificate and it is real.

The Health Dept. in Hawaii automatically sends birth announcements to the two Honolulu newspapers a few days after a birth in the local hospitals. Those ORIGINAL announcements have been released! What more do people want???

The issue is NOT that Obama isn't a citizen ... the issue is NOT that he is a democrat. The issue is that he is a BLACK democrat.

Awesome post Mike. We're going through this with hubby's mom and it's SO difficult. She's not as bad as the lady in your post but it won't be long. She confuses her son with her brother - thinks people who live in TX are in MI - doesn't know our names - tells us the same thing every five minutes like it was the first time - etc., etc. She was living with us but we couldn't leave her alone anymore so she's in assisted living now and doing okay. She has a lot of company and that helps. Dementia is a horrific disease and I've already told my kids that if I get it, just shoot me and get it over with because I don't want to live like that. Or put them through it!!! (And to end on a lighter note ... the kids said they would do that.) ;o)

I received this e-mail about a year ago from a friend in NY. Well, ex-friend. He thought it was hilarious, I called him a racist, and we parted ways. Some people are just idiots!

Love the picture you used and I'd love to have that room be in my house. Like you, I am a voracious reader - always have a book stuck in front of my face. Hubby is amazed that I can read, watch TV and carry on a conversation with him at the same time.

I get most of my books at half.com and also go to 1/2 price books occasionaly.

Anything good Lately? Hmmm, let's see. Yes! LOL! Everything I read is good because I undoubtedly lerned something, which is always a good thing.

    Keep on reading!

Thanks for responding Chris, I appreciate it.

My comment has nothing to do with the paper ... well, in a round-about way I guess it does ... but that's not why I'm posting. And I don't want to create an account and become a regular blogger just to comment on something that happened recently. So, sorry this is getting posted in this thread but it's the best I could do.

A long time blogger, Mike (The Pilot) Austin has been banned from blogging - apparently for his criticism of the Victoria Advocate in his blog from Saturday. At least, that's what it looks like. He also can't get in the site to retrieve past blogs. Chris, would you care to comment on this? I would like to know what happened, and I'm sure all of Mike's regular readers would like to know also.

    Thank you!

If we don't take care of our Mother (earth), she won't take care of us.

Just finished Leisure Seeker and it was great. Also enjoyed Edgar Sawtelle. And I'll read anything by James Lee Burke and Diane Chamberlain.

Probably an advertisement for a vacuum cleaner company. ;o)

I know those asp caterpillars well. Both hubby and our cocker spaniel were stung by them when we lived in Victoria.

Rusty - I'm still here and it's quite ironic that you ask about me now and remember that hubby had prostate cancer almost three years ago. Found out last week that it's back. His PSA tripled in four months so we go see his urologist on Wed. to discuss options and then see a radiation oncologist. Here we go again.
