Bio

-Born and raised in Kenedy; graduated Kenedy High School 1987; thought I would never return. Best laid plans of mice and men often go awry.
-1991: Graduated with bachelor's of arts in broadcast journalism and political science, University of North Texas. Met lifelong friends working from 1989 to 1991 (editor in summer 1991) for The North Texas Daily. Loved print journalism more than broadcast. Had fantastic profs such as Keith Shelton, Roy Moses and Richard "Dick" Wells. Wished I had taken Smith Kiker in a still photography class.
-Went to work for The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, reporting first on the police beat, then county gov., then higher ed, then politics and special assignments. Made more lifelong friends.
-Returned to South Texas for a job at The Victoria Advocate covering education. Made more friends, but felt something was missing.
-Got teacher's certificate in Social Studies, Journalism and English. Teach at Karnes City HS. Too many certifications. UIL Coordinator. Badger Times adviser. Have great kids!
-Married with fantastic son.
-Live on ranch where I grew up. Beautiful view and wildlife.
