bighorn: I think you are confused the Mayor election was in May and he is not up for reelection until May of 2013. That is the whole point of this recall but my question is still where were all these people back in May. We had a small turn out for the city election this is why I would like to see the city elections to be moved to Nov. to coincide with the National elections.
Let me clarify I am against this recall and hate to admit that I have to agree with Mike's statement. But if Jeff Williams Runs in 2013 he will have my Vote again.
Where was this guy in May, if you look at the votes from the May election Armstrong is easily beatable. All Victoria needs is a viable candidate. We need more people to show up at the city counsel meetings and let the counsel know that we the citizen are not happy being lied to.
Dale, you also forgot to mention than there is one other way to increase the tax base. You can raise the property assessments like Victoria has done for the past 4 years. My home is assessed at 100% of it's value, Thanks a lot Dale taxer and VEDC. The residents that live off of John Stockbauer just love paying higher taxes. while the the homes in Country Club are assessed at 60% of their value.
Clean house in the VISD Administration, that would fix most of our problems.
We already have that option, Its called first class.
I have spoken with Mr. Byrd several times and listened to him speak at candidate forums. I believe Mr. Byrd is the Tax Payers best choice in the primary and the November election. I feel he will do whats right for the County of Victoria. Don't forget that County Commissioners not only fix roads but are the voice of the Precinct in the Commissioners Court.
