I wonder if the student is from Devereux? When my kids were at Dudley, they were busing in kids from Devereux. They had so many problems with those kids acting up. The teachers let them get away with things the regular kids would never had gotten away with. One day the principal climb on top of the playground equipment to get a kid down and he twisted his ankle jumping off. There were about 4 or 5 people running around trying to catch the kid. That day I called the main offices on Profit and the woman I spoke to said the school had never complained about the Devereaux Kids at Dudley. Since then , I have heard that other school have the Devereaux kids at their schools.

Maybe if they still did their own lifeguard certifications.
The reason they have the learning center is because they don't have or want to hire teachers that can teach the AP courses! This past year the teacher teaching AP Chemistry told the parents at open house that she was not qualified to teach AP Chemistry but McCord made her. Some of the teachers that teach AP course have decided not to teach them next year because they want to stay at the new high schools and not have to go back and forth. In the past we were told, we needed 11 students to make a class. Why is Moore saying that they will have AP classes with only 3 students? Why didn't they do that before? I have 2 kids that wanted to take AP Physics and the class did not make because they needed 11 students to sign up!!HIRE THE TEACHERS YOU NEED AT EACH CAMPUS VISD!!
I think the basketball coach has slumber parties with the girls. When my daughter was a freshman that is what she said they would be doing later in the year but my daughter quit before then. We weren't too crazy about her attending a slumber party with the coach!
For the students taking AP classes they will only be at their schools for half a day because AP classes will be a the Memorial high school building!!
Students wearing uniformed clothing is not going to make grades go up! Having qualified teachers teaching the subjects that they studied in college will. Mrs. McCord has teachers teaching subjects that the teachers are telling her and the parents at open house that they are not qualified to teach.
Haven't you heard Memorial is staying open for the students that are taking AP classes! VISD will be busing them in from the two new High schools! The new high schools will not have AP classes!I guess they can't afford to have AP teachers at both new high schools!
WOW - In your words" give credit where credit due." sure would like to know the names of the VISD employees that know what is going on and can answer questions. If you have a job, I feel you need to be doing that job! You shouldn't be there because you want your summers off! And if you can't answer a student or parents' question , don't just say "That's a good question" and not get back to that person. Find the answer and let them know!
WOW - Give me some names of those people that know what they are doing!!!So next time I have a problem I can talk to them because I still haven't met any one! I have one more year with VISD and what I have experienced has not been good! I did go to those meetings and when parents had questions, they couldn't answer them! VISD pays a counselor to help students and parents with college, FASTSA, scholarships. Did you not know this? Do you work for VISD?Are you one of those counselors?
Hey sunshine 32 , Who do you think these comments are for? Memorial is part of VISD or did you not know this?! I haven't seen anywhere that says that Bloomington lost half of their graduating class by their senior. Bloomington is a small town so yes their numbers are around 50 kids every year. What are talking about?Bloomington is not part of VISD!
