In China and a few other countries, farmers are allowed to grow hemp to make clothing, food, textiles, paper, fuel, plastics, and more! Americans are allowed to buy these products from other countries, but not to farm hemp to create our own products. Kinda wild that we are allowed to give money to other countries, but not to generate income here at home.
"While more hemp is exported to the United States than to any other country, the United States Government does not consistently distinguish between marijuana and the non-psychoactive Cannabis used for industrial and commercial purposes." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemp

Thank you all for my therapy session. =P
I blogged about what a headache The Patriot Act was for me when I was flagged. I couldn't renew my driver's license because my name didn't match the name on my social security card; I had First-name Maiden-name Married-name on my driver's license and First-name Middle-name Maiden-name on my social. I couldn't change my driver's license because it didn't match my social and I couldn't change my social because it didn't match my driver's. After all that, the social security office accepted a 20 year old expired college I.D., as proper identification as opposed to my driver's license.
...and who deserves handouts.
itisi, The Patriot Act makes me angry. Talk about a false sense of security. I had heard that The Patriot Act wasn't about protecting citizens from terrorists, but to control citizens. I didn't think that was true until I was flagged when renewing my driver's license because of The Patriot Act. When I went to purchase a home, The Patriot Act created twice as much paperwork. Making sure women change their name with social security will protect us from terrorists? More paperwork when purchasing a home will protect us from terrorists?
I agree that there is too much ineffective government intrusion, but it's not emanating from a specific party...
I see both parties (government) as wanting bigger government. They just disagree on who to limit and who to control.
I guess it's a sugar high. =D
There comes a point in your life when you trade in the stimulants like mini-thins or energy drinks for things to calm you down and are a bit healthier like tension tamer tea and organic carrot juice. Maybe my nerves are shot. ;)
Every time I go to H.E.B. I buy a bottle of carrot juice from over in the produce section. I down that while checking out. It's my new "high." =D
