I'm trying to make sure I'm clear on this. So the rate is going from 15.31 cents to 16.01 cents per $100, making a $120,000 property's current rate $183.72 per year. The new rate would make it $192.12 for an increase of $8.40. Wouldn't it be easier for citizens to put aside an extra 70 cents a month (.70 x 12 = 8.40) and be happy that Victoria has a community college to train its citizens for a future beyond flipping burgers than to complain about it?
My wife and I stopped in for a quick breakfast taco when we were in a rush for breakfast last week. They were so good we came back for lunch and absolutely loved it. My wife ordered off of the menu and I the special. Our entrees arrived just as we were finishing our soups. Our drinks were never below half empty. And both times Robert came out to visit with us. I love the atmosphere (and the gumbo!)
Completely off topic, but are you the same Doug Hazlewood that is the comics inker? I thought he lived in the area. If so, loved your runs on the Animal Man and Superman books. I still have my Marvel Try-Out Book.
"Trooper finds cocaine in VW valued at $86,000" Wow, I didn't know VWs were so expensive.
exresident: Mazda RXs are known for their teleportational abilities. It's an added option, though.
Anonymous writings have their place. For example, the Federalist Papers. Even Thomas Paine's Common Sense was anonymous when it was first published. I don't think comments on a website carry as much weight as a published article or book so they should be taken with a huge grain of salt.
Kaybee and Circus World come back!!!
Before I lived in Victoria I'd make trips here every few months mainly to visit the zoo and then on to La Bahia in Goliad or do a little shopping. This was about a 45 minute trip. More frequently I would go to Houston/First Colony which was about the same distance, but had more to offer in regards to shopping. I would think, at least at this point, that Victoria attracts shoppers from the outlying areas more so than your typical tourist.
What about Joe Kenworthy? That guy was great!
Thanks for the info everyone. That kind of stuff is interesting to me.
