"PatientEarth, I am not exaggerating when I say that is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me. I cannot take all the credit, however. I give that to my parents. They raised me with love and patience, and I practice the same. Thank you for a real upper. May you have a blessed and beautiful Christmas."

Bio

Born during the summer of love, I learned early on that love begets love. I have seen man land on the moon; women (including my dear mom) marching for their rights, which in turn became our rights; our nation's bicentennial; hostages held (and released) in foreign lands; a president shot; the dawning of the age of technology (and Aquarius); fashion disasters of the '80's (of course I didn't wear ANY of those); too many rock stars die too young; days brighter than I ever dreamed they could be; and nights darker than anyone should see.
We are constructed from our experiences, and from people who drift in and out of our lives. If we are lucky, some stick around and make us better than who we are. I have been blessed. I am forever Grateful (and not yet Dead), and I strive daily to return the favor to others.
I am a native Houstonian who has been misplaced for much of her life, but I still call Houston my true home. I floated down this way some years ago, and as a result, graduated from Yoakum High School (go Bulldogs!), received an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology from Victoria College, and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from UH-V. I am about midway through my Masters in Science in Forensics from Sam Houston State University, although I have once again drifted to this area, so it looks like I will be finishing up my graduate degree at UH-V. Lesson learned: when something works, stick with it. UH-V is the most excellent school in this state. Go Jaguars!
I have worked as a medical technologist for twenty years and a lab manager for two, and still get the biggest thrill every time I look into a microscope. I am indeed a fortunate person to be able to do what I love every day. In my spare time, I enjoy music of all sorts, particularly 1960s and 1970s rock and roll. It simply doesn't get any better than that. I read voraciously, digging science fiction and Edgar Allen Poe. My favorite color is....oh, never mind. I feel like a teenager again, writing in someone's "Likes/Dislikes" books.
I own several cats, one dog, and one horse (wait, exactly who owns who?). I will likely be that lady down the street in a few more years with far too many pets, sitting in a rocker on my porch with a flyswatter in one hand and a glass of Southern Comfort in the other. (Hail Janis!) Life is indeed good.
