"wHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS ROTATING OF POWER IN THE STATE OF TEXAS TODAY? AND MAYBE FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS? The question that comes to mind is how many people remember when companies such as CPL (and now AEP) were forced to deregulate and the cost of electricity was going to be cheaper. I was paying .08 cents a Kw..and these days it gets to .14 cents a Kw...and that's better than paying CPL around .16 when the deregulation started. Why was the old CPL(AEP) forced to sell off all their generators? Back in Dec 2009 we had a very cold month for almost 30 days and we never had to go through this rotating..WHAT IS GOING ON? ""Dont you want to support your local police" the phone caller said.. The following is information taken from the official website of the Texas Department of Public Safety. Public Information Office Email: Public Information Office Media Relations Phone: (512) 424-2080 The Texas Department of Public Safety does not solicit financial contributions from private citizens. DPS is funded from your tax dollars. If you have been contacted by a telemarketing organization representing itself to be the Texas Department of Public Safety, you should know that the DPS receives no financial support from these organizations. Some groups include in their names the terms "Texas Rangers," "State Troopers," "Texas Highway Patrol" or "Department of Public Safety." While some officers may be members of these associations on their own time, these organizations are not affiliated with the DPS. They are private associations raising money to fund their own programs, some of which may benefit officers and their families. Report a Violation
"March 12, 2010 4:00 AM By CHRISTOPHER SHERMAN/The Associated Press McALLEN — Mexican drug cartels are infiltrating federal law enforcement agencies along the southwest border and those charged with weeding them out say they don’t have the money to catch all the corrupt agents, homeland security officials told a U.S. Senate panel Thursday. James Tomsheck, assistant commissioner with U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Internal Affairs, told a Senate homeland security subcommittee in Washington that only about one in 10 of the new hires for agency jobs are given polygraph tests, and of those, 60 percent are deemed unsuitable for employment. That means that many who joined the agency during the recent hiring boom and did not take polygraphs could have joined with corruption already in mind, Tomsheck said. An AP investigation tallied corruption-related convictions against more than 80 enforcement officials at all levels — federal, state and local — along the southwest border since 2007. "

"Sorry to hear about your mishap. It really makes you feel so helpless when you are burglarized in such a way. I am SO scared to be burglarized in the way you were. I have little ones with me at night, hub works night shift a lot. I am seriously thinking of getting my concealed hand gun licence. I know how to shot guns fine I just don't have a licence to have one. For back up we had a dog that was an inside dog for years, we put her outside so that we could hear if something wasn't right by way of her barking. Also, in Oct we got another dog. A catahoula/heeler mix and he stays in most of the time. He is massive and I would really hate to run into him if I was breaking into someones house! And we have a house alarm and car alarms...but, if someone wants something bad enough I fear none of these things would stop them. It's very scary. I hope you and your family are able to recover from this unfortunate event. "

"I just read your last few blogs and I guess I don't understand the backstory, except that your vehicle was stolen. I am wondering if you are accusing some woman who has moved into a house of being involved with this crime?"

"Advise appreciated: On Feb 3 at 1:15am. we had a police officer come to our home to ask for my husband and if he owned a 2006 Chev 3/4 ton Truck. I said "yes" and then he asked when was the last time we seen it which I told him. He then told me that it had been stolen and they found it about a block from our house. The "crook" ran off as the police had been called by a VERY ALERT neighbor across the street that had been awaken by his dog barking and this neighbor called the police. The "crook" had removed the tags from our truck and had put them on another truck about 3 house down...and was in the steps of putting that person's tage on our truck when the police arived. The police officer gave chase but he escaped. Now it gets "scary". The crook had opened up our garage door and then opened the door from the garage into the kitchen and removed 3 sets of keys from the bar so he could gain entry into the truck. I have 2 small dogs and they never barked which is really scary. Come to find out...these crooks had been hiding and living in a house that had been vacant for 10 yrs. They had climbed through a back window and were using this vacant house as a hideaway. The crooks also went into my car and removed things one being a key to an rv which is stored elsewhere. The after of Feb 2, this crook had gone across the street to ask a lady if he could borrow her phone. Of course the answer was...she didnt have one. These "crooks" had been checking out the neighborhood. There has been several vehicles broked into in this area...( and lets not forget about the vehicles that have been stolen lately ... I have drawn my conclusion... Now we are waiting for Sudden Link to come and put up a security system on all points of entry as weel as glass sensors...but until them...we are working in shifts here so someone is awake day and nite. We have been informed by someone that lives next to this vacant house..that the police have picked up 2 people..but NO ONE HAS GIVEN ME AN ANSWER...I have called for the last 3 days...and I can not get any help wth this information. Seems that every time I called the PD...the person I need is out of the office and they well give him the message...UNBELIABLE.. SO HERE WE ARE...LIVING IN FEAR ..THINKING THEY WILL RETURN. In fact..I have "what I think" might be some important information that might bring in more PPL of interest... Anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone else experienced this NO RESPONDENCE!! "
