@Newcowboyintown. You said..... I suspect the Natural Gas Engineering program has past on due to the passing of Dr. Dotterweich - past dean of the engineering school at A&I. "DOC" was the department of Natural Gas Engineering - and without him there to champion the program - it is gone
Dotterweich was long gone when I recieved my B.S. and M.S. degrees from A and I. A&M have made their intentions clear by firing any TAMUK president who even thinks of listening to the Alumni. There is currently a bill introduced to change the name back to A&I as a first step to restoring the school to what is was before A&M screwed us.
The Engineering program was the best in the world when I was enrolled there, with 6 consecutive years of 100% passing rate for the FE or EIT exam for engineers. It's not like only 5 people took the test per year either, over 100 took it at the same time I did. No other school in the nation had a 100% pass rate during that time.... Not Rice, not MIT, surely no other university in TX. A&M have done everything they can to dismantle and steal the engineering program that is still better then A&M's to this day.
Do some research before you open your mouth and make it clear you have no idea about what you are speaking of.
congratulations. However the Sadvocate needs to take remedial speeling classes before it posts headlines. Metal? Seriously, you are journalists with degrees aren't you?
If anyone wants to know how "good" a change joining the A&M system will be, you should contact anyone affiliated with Texas A&I, and the A&I Alumni Association. Since TAMU took over A&I in 1993, and changed the name of the university, the school has either been stagnant or gone backward in every respect. None of the promised money ever reached the Campus in Kingsville. Check this site for the real story of what a "benefit" TAMU would be.
how is paying by credit card in person any cheaper for the city than paying by credit card over the phone? Both require the same amount of time by the city employee doing the transaction. I find it incredulous that this city still mails water bills out, but can't find a way to eliminate the mailing for those that don't want paper bills, and at the same time cannot process automatic drafts from credit cards, but can process automatic drafts from bank accounts. Welcome to the future Victoria.... actually I guess I should say welcome to the year 2000, we are so far behind.
that was done on purpose to illustrate a point.... At least you got it.

Texas A&M was appealing to Victoria because of its track record of building rural-type destination universities, he said.
How funny, let me see his research on this....
Here is the truth about what A&M does to other schools that it controls.....

I wish the Advocate would cover another side of this story.

Scroll down the first page to see what a anme change can do.
I am sick of seeing the advocate report one side of the story, and not the reality of what can happen based on facts.
