You are absolutely INCORRECT, “Troof.” UHV pays RENT to the city for the use of Riverside, bringing the city revenue and plenty of fans who buy popcorn at the park, stay in our local hotels and eat in area restaurants. No one at UHV, including Mr. Puhl, has any influence over other teams that use Riverside; we pay our rent and abide by all stipulations. Coach Puhl and the Jaguars happily work with any and every one and all area teams in support of the sport of baseball. You were misinformed.
Thank you for taking the time to comment about my blog and for the compliments about the University of Houston-Victoria. I did want to clarify that the university has absolutely NO taxing authority, does NOT assess taxes to Victoria County taxpayers and will NOT with the addition of freshmen and sophomores in the fall of 2010. Our budget is constructed entirely differently than community colleges, for instance, and I’ll be blogging about how we put together our nearly $40 million budget soon.
