Pat Trevino is a board member and adult education director with HOPE (Hispanic Organization for Progress and Education). She is a writer, speaker, and an independent researcher of Mexican and Spanish land grants. Drawing on over 20 years of research experience Trevino has written a book titled, “The Unknown Heirs of Porcion 103”. (An unpublished manuscript)
Trevino’s research connected her family to the Spanish Colonial settlers of lands north of the Rio Grande River and to several unclaimed porcions in Starr County, Texas. The discovery of these unclaimed lands has prompted a growing movement from descendants of these original grantees to file lawsuits which are currently sweeping courthouses thoughout Texas in an effort to reclaim ancestral lands and mineral royalties which were established for the unknown heirs of these porcions (lands).
Trevino now resides in Tennessee with her husband Jose and is joined by their three married daughters and four grandchildren. Trevino is a staff member at a University and sits on an Affirmative Action committee and is also a board member with The Adult Literacy Council.
