My deepest Sympathy to the family. May Meagan Rest In Peace.

I gave birth at home in Goliad county so what's the big deal?

  • WendyN

I live in Goliad and would be proud to have the Navy flyboys practice their touch and go's here! Go Navy!!

  • WendyN

I'm all for the Navy having the airpark, it was theirs to begin with. Our boys need a place to practice, they fight for our freedom! The animals and wildlife will adjust!

Wordup what about all the other kinder and 1st graders that follow behind do our teachers have to waste their precious time buckling their belts and tucking their shirts, it's bad enough they spend half the day tying shoe laces...The focus needs to be on educating our children not being nanny's and making sure they're all dressing the same,sheesh...and if my young son is no different than a high school student, then why can't anyone under 18 be like me and vote?
I am sure we'll all adjust to this change but I don't think it's going to help educate our children...more wasted time and money that can be put to better use!

myvu my son is NOT a thug! I agree with Mamas3boys...My son dresses to code now and I try not to buy shirts with designs on them...I have a problem with the belts and tucking shirts in...And I've seen photos of the children at schools with uniforms and their shirts are always half tucked in and out and it looks sloppy!! And to buying larger clothes for my son...ahh what do I do when the shirts hang past his finger tips or are tucked clear to his knees...I'm just saying elementary students are different and not has adept at doing things as the older students! They need to take this into consideration! Teachers need to teach and not worry about clothing! And parents need to be responsible and pay attention to what their child is wearing...but once again we pay for the small percentage that doesn't care what their child does! Not fair...Change is inevitable and we'll will adapt but I don't have to like it!

I am a responsible parent and I don't have a problem with the dress code. But I think there is a big difference between elementary, middle school and high school. I want my son's teacher to spend the majority of her time teaching, not buckling and unbuckling belts and tucking shirts in for the little ones...do I have to go to school with him to make sure he stays up to code and is able to use the restroom? I hope when the board members define the details they take this into consideration for the younger children.

I think the elementary teachers are going to spend a lot of time tucking shirts in! My first grader can't do his own belt yet how is he suppose to go potty because he won't ask for help! I want to wait and see what adjustments they're going to be making but I'm not crazy about this...Nothing like spending more money on clothes, sigh! Last year I didn't buy him new school clothes as the ones from before fit and he had a growth spurt come the end of September...Now I'll have to buy him clothes before school starts and then more after Sept. as that is when he normally has growth spurts, sucks!

Our tax dollars hard at work! And I can say I know of one young man that graduated from Goliad who has the worst hand writing I have ever seen. I think these children need to learn how to write well with a pencil then go onto the technical stuff. And the laptops they give the students what a joke. I've seen these kids doing everything but homework with them.
