"I have a couple of suggestions for your big 5-0 birthday. Maybe Cooper could take you to Egypt and the both of you could walk among the pyramids, the ancient tombs in the Valley of the Kings, visit King Tut's treasures, the Sphinx at Giza, and finish off with a cruise on the Mediterranean Sea. Since you didn't get to go on your Hawaiian vacation last year this is the least that Cooper could do for you."

Bio

I am the Advocate's Local editor. I have been with the Advocate for 24 years. I started as a general assignments reporter working the weekends. I then worked various beats before moving out to the Cuero bureau where I worked for almost 10 years.
I promoted back into the main office in the summer of 2000 as regional editor and then was promoted to city editor, now known as local editor, in the summer of 2005.
I live in Yoakum with my husband Gary Cooper- yep that's right THE Gary Cooper.
We have two dogs - Timex and Rolex - afterall they are watchdogs! They are great dogs, border collie mixes, that we adopted after seeing Rolex's photo in the pet adoption section of the paper.
I'm a Texas girl. I grew up in Angleton; graduated from Angleton High School; went to college at Brazosport College and graduated from Southwest Texas State University. I worked for my hometown paper, the Angleton Times, for two years before moving to the Advocate in April 1985.
