I think an armed citizen blowing away one or two of these creeps would make this trail a lot safer. Ladies, Smith and Wesson makes a small, light weight revolver that packs a punch. They even come with pink grips and you can get a very fashionable holster.

I knew it was coming. I'm for the environment, but recycling is not practical in an economic sense. All it saves is some space in the landfill. About the only way it pays is by putting money in the pocket of Waste Management. I hope it is better managed than the brush pickup is. The rules on that are constantly changing and they charge for something that is picked up, then eventually sold by a private firm for.....you guessed it, a profit. Good job City Council.
Okay, I know you have to spend or invet money to make money. I agree with most everyone who has posted here that Victoria doesn't have much to be famous for. As far as the boots campaign goes, I don't think anyone has mentioned that some of the finest boots ever made, Luchese boots, started in Victoria. Why not include that in the campaign? Are we just going to use catchy jingles and tag lines to draw people in? As far as Bootfest goes, just take a look at other festivals, such as the Macaroni Festival, that failed due to a lack of interest. And what's with using an ad firm from Cuero, when we have several award winning ad firms right here in Victoria? Do we want to send our tax money elsewhere?
Just to share a little about surveys and statistics in general, a 15 percent return rate for surveys is considered to be normal. The fact that a little over 17 percent of the surveys were returned should be applauded. It probably represents more than the total voter turnout for the last general election and a heck of a lot better reponse than is received on bond elections in general.
I'm not defending Jabbour here, but I wonder if everyone who posted such wrathful statements here can truely be without sin so they can cast the first stone. I'm sure that N45 paid all the proper fees to legally download all those songs? Hmmmm! Seems I remember reading "Thou shalt not steal" somewhere.
This is the first I have heard of this project. I appreciate the Sheriff wanting to be ready to respond to an emergency, but I wonder about the use of this during a hurricane. how would winds in excess of 100 mph affect a 53 ft tractor trailer rig? Is the plan to have it safe offsite and then bring it in after the disaster? Interesting.
If I am not mistaken, it is now illegal to use any type of cell phone for any reason in a school zone, and several cities have made a local ordinance against texting while driving. Hopefully, this will soon be a statewide mandate.
I think a fair question would be "Have you ever embezzled money from a business partner?"
I know this group very well. They do a lot of good and operate on a very small budget. This is a great opportunity to have a good time and support a worthy cause. Best of all, half of the ticket price is tax-deductible.
Better bring mosquito repellent!!!!
