Hey wayward, it's been a while! I appreciate your honesty about your prejudices. What many fail to see, and you have seen it well, people make it easy for others to "judge" them when they bring attention to themselves by their choice of clothing, tattoos, etc. If I went around wearing a short leather mini-skirt, low cut blouse, high heels and a ton of make-up, I'm just bringing on the judgement from others....even if that's really not what I'm like. (And I'm not! : ) SO, many times our prejudices come from others's putting themsleves in that position.

Aprill, My husband and I have been married for almost 17 yrs and the most valuable thing I can share with any couple, married or not, is that REAL LOVE IS WANTING WHAT'S BEST FOR THE OTHER PERSON. If we're both living that daily, then our hearts and minds are in the best state for a loving lasting relationship...no room for selfishness! My prayers are with you and your husband-to-be.

oh yeah, i grew up in the downtown area and went to mitchell elementary. i ran around the windmill countless times while waiting to be picked up after school... great childhood memories! and as an adult, my husband and our children lived just one block from the mill... many days of my own children playing at the square. i would hate to see it gone... :(

i think it would be pretty cool if the mill would be restored by mr. maraggia right where it is. since he's agreed to take on the expense, why not leave it at the square for the people of victoria to appreciate and enjoy?!

The schools should offer swimming. Many schools across our country have indoor pools and with excellent programs for interested students. The millions of dollars should go to something productive, beneficial and fun.

rg: I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I, too, know from experience how difficult the death of a parent can be. (I lost both my parents within a year and a half of one another.) Yet, to find faith thru this sorrowful time is truly a blessing that will give you strength and comfort. You are in my prayers.

    ...peace, catholicgirl
