Any place where there are a few drunk hot heads looking for trouble (most of them do look for it) you will have an outcome like this. This neighborhood did not just become bad because of a club/bar. Just driving in that area you get the vibe that there is nothing good going on.
I mean come on, most of the businesses around the said building this took place at was way after business hours with the exception of the game room located in that area.
Not to say it's ok....but really that "HOOD" was in decline way before a bar opened up whats needed is proper security if you ask me.

This just saddens me beyond words for all of the people affected by this senseles act of violence. I would hope that some Victorians rather than taking the easy road and criticizing after the fact would actually try to help in someway instead of ignoring the problems we have in this city. We may not be able to fix all of the issues we have with gangs, drugs, etc. but you never know how much of an impact you may be able to make on one person if you actually show them you truly care and want to try to help.

To the family of this young man: May he rest in peace. Hopefully now you will gain some type of closure. With that being said please do not interpret the following as any type of defense or excusing of gang activity or criminal activity.
These "gang members " are sons, brothers, fathers etc. whom I assume have made decisions to join gangs because they feel this is their family. Kids who have no guidance at home because parents are too consumed with their own lives to even pay attention or are too lazy to. They are left alone often due to only one working parent in the household to roam free in the streets, smoking, drinking, doing drugs, wanting someone to see them and when no one does....

Then I say reform and allow all those that are already here earning a living to pay taxes and establish a documented history this too will boost this terrible place that our countries economy is in.

Surely all of you who are against have seen how the people of Mexico are forced to live? That is why you speak so "adamantly" of deportation... The craziness that we as Americans display is just as bad if not worse ie:(Black Friday shoppers) than some of these hard working illegals sneaking into this country in search of a better life. Who do not have the luxuries of spending thousand on gifts, but fighting through crowds such as those on Friday just for good food.

I can't imagine what this wonderfully awesome man could have been facing that would constitute him taking his own life. It only goes to show that sometimes all may seem well on the outside, it may not always be the case on the inside. What a great loss this is, I pray the family finds peace during this difficult time.

I believe that this poor excuse of a human being should have gotten a lot more than twelve years.. What I have gathered in this case is these children had no one to protect them from the harm of this individual. Im sure this was not the only time he'd put his hands on them. I feel for them as the mother "allegedly" was in court testifying on his behalf and trying to get him what, a lighter sentence!?!!?
