There are at least three psychiatrists in Victoria and one comes from San Antonio and one from Corpus. The ones here don't accept Insurance and the ones from the cities I mentioned only see children. We need more Adult Psychiatrists locally. It's not easy driving out of town for appts.
It would help a great deal if Gulf Bend could work on getting some new Psychiatrists to come and live locally so people don't have to travel out of town for appointments. Also we need a Mental Health Court and a Diversion Program to keep persons with Mental Illness and Intellectual Disabilities out of the County Jail so they can received proper Treatment sooner.
I agree with roberttx a micro chip is the best way to reunite the dog with it's owner especially with this type of incident that seems to keep happening.
This is way to much of a salary and $25,000 for moving expenses is an enormous amount just coming from San Antonio. I hope he's ready for the challenge and can turn this District around and get the discipline problems under control. Now if he would just bring his Special Ed Director things will really look more promising!
How terribly sad at least he will be in Heaven now with is Mom and brother. My condolences to the family and I hope this man who did this will have to pay for this the rest of his life.
Sheriff Harmon and his Staff did a great job handling this Case. I pray that the Family will soon be able to put this incident behind them knowing that this precious little girl is now safe. I hope this is a wake up call for all Registered Sex Offenders and Child Molesters that this same consequence could happen to them.
There is no excuse in the Deputy ignoring the fact this man had a pacemaker and if he had proper training he should have used another method to search the man for weapons. This man might not have been a decent person but we are supposed to have respect for human life. The man could have died during surgery and basically who's responsible for this man's medical bills it wasn't his fault this happened. If you knew he had a pacemaker would you order him to use a microwave to heat food knowing that he shouldn't be using one. The Sheriffi's Captain told my husband and I that two men died in a cell from alcohol poisoning like it was no big deal. So I assume the Staff have no regard for human life regardless of what the men did. If our son's life would have become a life threatening situation and he needed to be rushed tot he Hospital someone would be answering to me why this was allowed to happen.

This whole story was ridiculous to print in the newspaper. I'm sure Mrs. Ramos is quite embarrassed over this incident.
