I think there are more critical comments about VISD than people that voted in the school board electioon. The persons interviewed are defensive, searching for excuses for the lower scores. Even the Advocate editorial was providing cover for the lower TAKS scores. It sounds like the "Good Ole Boy" system is alive and working in Victoria. Kasie & Holein1, a house cleaning is needed is in administration. When the 3rd grade and 6th are being taught the same level there is a major problem in administration. People in administration are responsible for the falling grades, they have lost their credibility.

The debt negotiations should be held in the open. This "behind closed doors" with each blaming the other needs to stop. Our money is being spent by politicians who don't want us to know the questionable deals that are being made. An effort was made to clean house last November and we need to continue November 2012. We need persons who have the welfare of the United States and its citizens and not their own welfare. I am angry and tired of the media and the politicians jockeying and manipulating for position and not standing up for our land of opportunity.
The voter turn out is disgusting. Why isn't there more interest in the education of your children? What is a democratic school? What is the reasoning supporting starting classes at 9:00? Rebecca what is your hang up with foreign languages, the students should be proficient in the english language, spelling, grammar and vocabulary before exploring an additional language. I'm old school, reading, writing, arithmetic, history, geography, and civics are the foundation of education; and classes starting at 8:00.
