At the ripe age of 61 I didn't even know what a fade was until a visit to Texas Made Fades on assignment. Roy and Bobby were very professional and passionate about their craft, which is evident in their strong work ethic. What I wasn't prepared for was how much laughter, love and good vibes I would experience there. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Thugs? Please. I can remember a time in the 60's when we wearing long hair was looked down upon. Every generation has it's own unique individual style. Remember Zoot suits? Vitalis slick hair and leather jackets? I'm thinking about taking my lunch breaks at Texas Made Fades simply because of the cool environment and hey I get to listen to Bobby and Mike rag on each other and they don't even charge an admission fee. This story was about much more than "fade" haircuts, it's about two guys running a successful business their way. The straight man Roy and Bobby the comic. What a combination. God bless.

Is the love in your heart for your mother, father, sibling measurable on a standardized chart? Life in this world or the next is rooted in FAITH. Faith is not a false hope not does it need to stand up to scientific evidence. Naturally you would think that anything that doesn't hold up to empirical evidence is false. For you a that holds true, however for those who have a relationship with GOD, faith is what is measurable and true. The further one strays from the path to heaven the greater the disconnect. I see and hear it all the time. Those who shout SCIENCE have little to no faith, walk in darkness and have distanced themselves from the light of GOD.

Funny piece! How much coffee did you consume in the process?

Judging a religion or culture with the stroke of a large and broad brush underscores the the qualities of love, hope and charity. Being Muslim, Pentecostal, Jewish, Catholic ...etc, is a personal journey based on free will. Are we culturally biased to the point where we will begin to not trust the Irish, Germans or even Latinos because they sound or look a little different? Please, we need more compassion in this world.

Thanks for the info, this will be helpful in the future. We did ask around for well known fans but, time was short and there were little visual signs that we could see.

Mr. Valentine and his staff at V Cutz are wonderful examples of "serving" those in need. The shop was buzzing(sorry) and the sense of self esteem rose higher and higher through out the day. What a charitable act of grace.

Seems pretty obvious from the story that its on the Fourth of July, not the 2nd nor the third. Monday it is. Happy 4th of July.

Everything that I have ordered has always been prepared quickly and is simply wonderful. I have gone in the evenings many, many times and is always great, Perhaps the first week they were working out the kinks but Robert is truly concerned about his food and service. Outstanding food, portions and prepared with love. Don't give up, you will come to love it and embrace his menu.

Exploitation? I doubt it "porky", just ask any of the students, they were all there to have a good time. Is it exploitation to cover a "traditional" prom? Life Skill students look forward to the prom, but its hard to figure out who is having more fun because everyone is celebrating life. I had a great time being there and I thank the Lord for allowing me to witness his awesome grace revealed through the smiles of joy and genuine love felt by all.
