I think I have a great money making idea. I think I will open up a general store and pay wages that are twice what Walmart does, and I just know all of you will be there on the first day to pay higher prices. Not so much, right?
Luckily, you are in in America and you don't have to ever step a foot in Walmart, if the fellow shoppers bother you, the wages bother you, the country of origin bothers you. No need to whine, just don't shop there. Move on!
The voters deserve a recount when an election is this close. As someone else remarked, I’m surprised that a recount is not triggered automatically given the closeness of the result. The result was 50/50, a statistical tie. Recounts are allowed with a less than 10% winning margin. To fight this so hard, Alvarez must feel there is a good chance a hand count could result in the re-election of Rangel.
But it does make me wonder--what is it about a job that pays $150.00 a month, give or take, that would warrant someone hiring a political consultant? They don't work cheap! There must be something that would make these candidates think the expense of a hired gun is worth the position they seek. (Juanita's left eyebrow just went straight up...)
Think about that for a minute--Several thousand dollars investment for a return of a pittance. If they will be that reckless with their own money, what are they going to do with yours? Be conservative? You think? I think not!
The silence on this issue is unbelievable. Two of the people involved with this are now running for city council. What happened at the charter school was criminal.

Where are all you people who constantly call our current city council crooked?
David Hagan weights every decision as to how it can benefit himself. Mr. Hagan has repeatedly demonstrated this through his distortion of facts and manipulation. Weather its bowing to special interest like when one of his biggest contributors didn’t get the bid for a new fire station (Steve Roth), or completely lying about the cost of city projects (sidewalks). The latest example is his attempt to use the proposed wastewater treatment plant to gain attention and votes. The city has been embarrassed enough by Mr. Hagan. maybe he's busy doing legitimate work? Why did mr. redburn and stormin normin (LMAO) act like children and put so many people at risk by meddling with a public utility????
