I was at work yesterday when I got the call...My wife called and told me our student has passed on. Diana was a student of ours recently. She was trying to make life better for herself and her sons. She always spoke of how God was moving in her life and how things were changing. She talked about her desire to help others who have gone through the same tough times she did. How proud she was of her sons, how she loved her family and the Lord. She was so thankful for her job and all her friends. She was nearing graduation from our class, but God called her to the head of the class and graduated her with honors. We are praying for peace for her whole family.....God bless.

Seems that the Advocate missed the part of the Lyceum where half(if not more) of the audience walked out because of the political overtones ect being expressed.
if you want a clear aspect of pentecost read the book of acts....specifically acts chapter 2
athiests say that I'm bound and prisoner of my beliefs, true I am a bond-servent of Christ. Athiest say that I am not free.....where the spirit of the Lord is there is freedom....Jesus said that "I have come to save the world not to condem it".....whoever taught you that we serve this oppresive being that is waiting to punish every wrong move was wrong, Jesus saves us from ourselves, He issues grace and mercies.....even though you deny Him......He loves you!
I say whatever works do it!!! I can however point out that the bible says you don't need to pray to the saints or have a priest pray to have contact with God. When Jesus died the curtain that separated God's presence for his people was torn in half. God has always wanted a one on one relationship with His children. If you need forgiveness or a blessing just ask Him! But as I said earlier.......if it works for you, do it! May God's blessings, grace and mercy be upon you!Your brother in Christ Jesus,Shawn
Rg, Thank you so much for your blog. I myself, my wife and just about any christian I have ever know has been where you are now. It is a tough place to be both emotionally and mentally. Never being good enough, or not feeling saved is a problem that most of us has to deal with. Often, churches(pastors) lose sight of preaching Jesus' true word which is grace! The truth is, that there is nothing we can do to warrant his love, but because He is Love and Grace, we can be saved. Lets look at one of the most prolific apostles in the bible named Peter. Jesus said "upon this rock I shall build this church" , refering to Peter. Peter was a judgemental, foul mouthed(spoke bad of others) man that denied Jesus THREE TIMES! Look at Jonah, he ran from God. There are dozens of examples of "men if God" that fell short, but there is no doubt that he forgave them and loved them. When or if you have children, you'll love them still if they arent perfect. He made us to be His children. I'd like the opportunity to talk with you further, if you are open to that. Maybe have a coffee at Starbucks or something. This invite goes for anyone who is interested, I feel called to reconnect people to God, not nessasarily a church. If you are interested my email is on my profile page, my wife and hope that you find peace and joy.Blessings,Shawn
