Victoria, TX – Students of the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Victoria participated in an essay contest to acknowledge teachers who have made a difference in their lives. From the numerous essays, one Elementary School student was selected this week - his teacher is being recognized this Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church during the Awards Assembly (two Middle School students were selected last week).
WHO: Trinity Episcopal School’s 2nd Grade Teacher, Mrs. Hickner was nominated by Sean Judge. In his winning essay, Sean explains that Mrs. Hickner gives all her students the opportunity to realize their potential. “She is very nice to me. She listens to me….I have never seen her say something bad about any student. I have honestly never seen such a great teacher. I think all the teachers in the world are the best”, wrote Sean.
WHAT: Patty Zapalac, Trinity Episcopal School Assistant Headmistress and Kumon Director, Radhika R. Hingoranee, will surprise Mrs. Hickner with a $100 gift card, a certificate in recognition of her outstanding teaching, and a copy of the winning essay.
