I agree!  That Burger King has the worst service ever.   You wait at the speaker to order for what seems like 10 minutes.  Then you wait again for the long line to shorthen before you finally reach the window.  Why people continue to do business there I'll never know.  I don't!

I would like to know more about how life has changed for those living in Laredo.  I grew up there.  As children, we safely walked the streets to and from school or to visit neighbors.  I grew up attending the carnival in the dry river bed portion on the border in celebration of George Washington's birthday.  It was always a big event for the entire town with Formal Balls to attend, parades, etc.  Does any of this still exist?

Also try writing your own newspaper since you offer nothing but criticism for this one.

Without retail, you people would be harvesting your own food, building your own homes from materials you made yourself, and walking to your "non-existent" jobs.

"Rack up tickets"? How many chances are you going to give them?

The problem with collars and tags on a dog or cat is they can come off or be taken off. The best thing a pet owner can do is to have them micro chipped. In fact, it should be a requirement. Many people let their pets lose not caring if they come back or not. If it's mandatory that they be micro chipped, then we can hunt you down and fine you for not taking care of your pet. Or even better, kick you out in the street with no food, water, or shelter to fend for yourself!

The problem with irresponsible pet owners and pet breeders is not going to stop until there are specific definitive laws passed and enforced to decrease the overpopulation of homeless dogs and cats. Breeders should be licensed. The sale of pets on the side of the streets should be prohibited. Classified ads selling pets should be stopped. Limiting the ways people can sell pets goes a long way toward decreasing the number of dogs and cats euthanized every year. It's not going to stop overnight, but it's a step in the right direction.

A very moving piece! This article turned a story into a realization.
