What about the people she left in the car...they didnt know her? Its funny to think they were letting some lady drink and drive them around and didnt know her name. The other article said she had passengers, they should be in jail until they tell the cops her name and address.
Sad as it is, the counselors at the school are overwhelmed with paper work and are too busy to be concerned about mental or physical needs. Children that act out sometimes need mental, and social skills training. There used to be a program called SNAP at visd that did just this thing brought in counselors and case managers and interventionists all kinds of wonderful professionals, but the grant for it ran out. Maybe some persuasion from outsiders would make them look into applying for it again.
Rebirth. The mayan calendar says that December 21,2012 is a day of great change....it says nothing about the end of the end of it all....the people want to make it sound so dramatic, but we looked at this in my latin american class in college and it doesnt say anything about the end of all we know.
I do not think that the color is really going to be that much of a stressor to these kids to Affect (see English is my first language..sometimes), the way these students will learn and grow for four years. Seriously, all four years of my high school career, all I cared about was leaving that place...hummm..no colors on my mind and we were icky blue. We got to vote for the colors of the new Memorial high when I was an 8th grader and all it had on it was colors and mascots, no other words. Please do not lead others to believe these people intentionally made idiots of the whole town and students, a little ridiculous. They DO have to live here and see everyone every day. Anyway, if its such a big deal, march yourself down to profit drive, chain yourself to the door and demand an end to the silly and unfair practices going down at school board meetings...seems like a good answer to me.
so blue and white would have been ok for the new high school? the drill teams uniforms are black and would match any other color picked. this is not a big deal. seriously.

colors of high school = effecting kids way of being educated for decades to come? I thought teachers did that.
