Wow kt, I WAS ALWAYS TAUGHT THAT WITH God anything is possible, but now you are telling us that there are some things God is not able to do if a person will let him. hmmmm, I just don't know
Just a mom I hope you are a member of TX voices. Your story is powerful
OMG I THINK MY GRANDPA IS A SEX OFFENDER. He married my grandmother when she was 14 and he was 26. I am sure they had sex before they got married. NEWSFLASH MY MOTHER ALSO MAY BE A SEX OFFENDER. She was 18, my dad was 16. Please don't tell the cops, she is 72 now and should not go to prison for giving birth to me. WOW, I THINK MY HUSBAND IS AN OFFENDER TOO. He is 8 years older than I am. There will be noone left in may family if the news gets wind of this.
Oh the registry really helped poor Jaycee Dugard in California. Even garrido's parole officer did not find her when he checked on the REGISTERED sex offender monthly. No, restrictions make noone safer.
I have a great idea. Why doesn't the Advocate do an article and maybe an interview about and with someone from this group called TX voices. Help us ALL learn more abouth these issues. Maybe someone from that group would answer questions. Come on Advocate be a proactive help and possible solution to a problem that everyone is concerned with.
I have also voted no because those that are not dangerous should not have any restrictions. We need to only know info about those who are truly dangerous and a predator. I don't care if a boyfriend, girlfriend consensual thing, an online chatter, a urinator, a falsely accused person live next door to me. Frankly, I don't care if a predator lives next door to me. I refuse to depend on the government for my protection. I might like to know if a serial killer or charles manson lives next door to me more than a sex offender. Do you really think a restriction will stop someone who wants to rape or molest? NO
Ms keyser, Maybe TX voices would help with solutions. When the dialogue is open things happen and the whole community is better off. There needs to be a total understanding of these laws and the effects they have on people.
I went to the website mary sue spoke of www.txvoices.com everyone should check it out. It will give you a clearer understanding of what marysue is trying to say. I even signed the petition.
All I know is that with God all things are possible. Evidently some of you don't know the same God that I know. God is forgiving of EVERYONE!!!!! If you don't believe that then you should examine yourself. There are some on the registry who do not belong there. There should be differentiation between those who are dangerous and those who are not. Those who are not dangerous or predatory should not be there. I am a victim of sexual assault and even I understand that. I AM NOT A VICTIM, I AM A SURVIVOR. Consensual sex is not the same as what happened to me and if you believe it is then shame on you.
