Texas Law also states breed specific legislation is illegal in the State of Texas.
People calling for Victoria to ban pit bulls should educate themselves and check out section 822.047 of the state code:
822.047. Local Regulation of Dangerous Dogs A county or municipality may place additional requirements or restrictions on dangerous dogs if the requirements or restrictions: (1) are not specific to one breed or several breeds of dogs; and (2) are more stringent than restrictions provided by this subchapter.
What happened is a tragedy, my thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of this little boy.
Congrats to you both! I know it has been a long, hot, hard road getting those doors ready to open. It's exciting having a younger generation of Veterinarians in Victoria. Your dedication to patient care, coupled with the enthusiasm and new technology, you are sure to succeed!
How sad. At 14 how can she enjoy college life? While her dorm mates are going out, meeting guys and truly experiencing the college life, she will be stuck in the dorm studying, after all she can't even drive. She will be too young to go to 6th street or any other club, too young to date (the guys would go to jail) and too young to form meaningful bonds with other college kids who are 4-8 years older than she is and more mature. Again, how sad. She won’t be old enough to experience "college life" for another 4 years, about the time she will graduate with her Bachelors.
